About

img_4841This blog is my space to natter at irregular intervals about things that catch my attention here and there. I am passionate about talent development and inclusion at every level. In my day job, I lead and manage a portfolio of developmental opportunities for research staff and postgraduate researchers. I have a PhD in Inclusive Education and previously consulted on social innovation and social impact. As a student, I worked with the Thames Valley Police training department and was a Summer School Ambassador helping to raise educational aspirations for primary and secondary school children for many years. I, therefore, have the unique ability to evoke successive reactions in people who meet me for the first time: curiosity, followed closely by utter bamboozlement, and finally bemusement at my love for discussing tangential subjects related to talent development, inclusion and social impact! In a shameless attempt to convince you of my credibility, here are some examples of my research outputs and international dissemination activities.

When I am not otherwise being deluged with talent development innovations and practice, my personal pursuits revolve around embracing languages and cultures of the world. I consider myself a ‘multi-potentialite’ and ‘multi-localite’. In addition to English, I speak Swahili, Hindu and Urdu, and have an elementary grasp of French, Punjabi and Gujrati. After daringly attempting to teach myself Arabic (and some comical mispronunciation gaffes), I finally succumbed to formal learning classes in this language.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog posts as much as I enjoyed writing them. Please do comment and join the discussion. I’d love to hear from you, so do feel free to contact me via Twitter or LinkedIn or leave a comment below. Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Thanks for following my blog. Your research sounds interesting, and as an added interest (for me) I am Northamptonshire born and bred so it’s good to see such important research coming out of my neck of the woods 🙂
